The morning after Barack Obama’s historic acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High, the media has already moved on and is buzzing about John McCain’s choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.

While Democrat commentators are labeling McCain’s choice as a ploy to draw in disenchanted Hillary Clinton voters, Face The State caught up with a few of Colorado’s Republican delegates who are thrilled with the pick.

“She represents all the best in a woman,” said Lynn Cotrell, a delegate from Aurora and Director for the Republican Woman’s Coalition. Like Sen. Wayne Allard, Cotrell also called Palin’s nomination “brilliant” and believes having a female vice presidential candidate will strengthen her coalition.

“I just think it’s awesome,” said Matt Knoedler, a delegate and former state House member from Lakewood. “A lot of Colorado people were pushing for Mitt Romney. I like him a lot, but we needed a breath of fresh air.”

Kristy Burton, a Peyton delegate, said Palin is a "great choice" with a strong pro-life stance. Burton is running the campaign for Amendment 48, also known as the Personhood Amendment.

Cotrell, Burton and Knoedler were all busy packing for their journey to the Republican National Convention, which begins on Monday in St. Paul, Minn. Check back with Face The State throughout the RNC for on site coverage and commentary from Colorado pundits.
