After losing 15 John McCain yard signs to liberal thieves, one vigilant Denver Republican has gone to great lengths to make sure nobody lays a hand on his McCain-Palin yard sign.

In front of a Cherry Creek residence on University Boulevard, one McCain supporter has rigged an elaborate system to protect his political endorsement, wrapping the sign in a yellow extension cord, which is presumably attached to a camera or alarm system.

A handwritten sign attached to the bottom of the sign reads:

“Please respect our First Amendment right; 15 of these signs have been stolen from our property. Steal this sign and you will be photographed and prosecuted and / or educated as to the Second Amendment."

So who's sign is this?

Just a few doors down from former CU President and U.S. Senator Hank Brown, the sign is rumored to have been placed by former Republican state Sen. Paul W. Powers. Face the State attempted to contact Powers several times, but had no luck.

So beware, if you’ve gotten caught up in the recent trend of sign snatching, you may be put in a position to dodge some bullets.
