The Capitol Rumor Mill is always churning out gossip, so we try our best to ask people if something is true before printing it.
Lucky for us, the information age has made it exceedingly easy to get ahold of people, including state lawmakers. Most of them have Facebook accounts or MySpace pages, while others don’t hesitate to give out their personal cell phone number or e-mail addresses.
But Rep. Anne McGihon, D-Denver, has none of the above.

Calls to her Capitol and campaign office numbers — the only ones available online - went unreturned. An interview request sent to her Capitol e-mail address has yielded no response. She lists no alternative contact information in the General Assembly Directory, known more commonly as the “Pink Book.”
Face The State was also unsuccessful in its effort to reach McGihon through Katie Reinisch, communications director for House Democrats. “I have no way to get in touch with her, so just try the best ways you can,” Reinisch said when asked if she could pass McGihon a message.
Our interest in McGihon was raised after hearing that she has been moping around the Capitol since being demoted from the chair of the House Health and Human Services Committee.
Rep. Terrance Carroll, D-Denver, slated to be the next Speaker of the house, replaced McGihon with Rep. Jim Riesberg, D-Greeley, as chair of the committee. He cited a "new path on health care" as the reason for his decision.
