Colorado’s oldest newspaper stopped publishing Feb. 27, 2009, but it didn’t die.

At least that's what the Web site IwantmyRocky.com is proclaiming. The site features several of the Rocky's top former writers, including transportation reporter Kevin Flynn, sports writer Tracy Ringolsby, and cartoonist Ed Stein. Flynn is hopeful the site will turn into more than a hobby and is working to make it a viable business.

Across the county, media outlets are speculating at which publication will be the next to fold. Many papers are going digital in an attempt to cut costs, drive up revenue and attract more readers: the exact business model Flynn is shooting for.

"Everybody told us that online digital delivery and presentation is the future, but Scripps was unwilling to take us there because of the losses incurred reaching that," Flynn told Face the State. "We've attracted some interest and we'll see how far it can go. It's sort of like driving down I-25 to the Tech Center. I can drive in any of the five lanes and decide which exit is the best to take. Each lane is something different, and this is just another one of those lanes."
