We're off to a busy start this week at Face The State, with two television appearances dealing with important issues for residents of the Denver Metro area.

Managing Editor Brad Jones appeared Sunday night on Fox 31 as part of a news package exposing the Regional Transportation District's $15 million purchase of abandoned farmland near Fort Lupton. (Streaming video) That purchase was part of an abortive transaction with Union Pacific Railroad to relocate a downtown Denver rail yard away from the city to make way for a light rail maintenance facility. Jones calls the RTD's financial guarantee for the purchase irresponsible "prospecting."
At 5 PM today, Face The State staff writer Rachel Boxer will appear on Univision's Noticias Colorado discussing a Denver proposal to require the impounding of vehicles belonging to drivers who do not possess a valid license or required insurance upon contact with police.
