COLORADO'S FRONTPAGE

Face the State

Victim Auditions Right This Way

January 24, 2008

Once upon a time, liberals knew how to have fun. Now they just don't have time. They're too busy auditioning to be the next big victim profiled in the mainstream media.

The latest persons (lest we say "guys")? Michael Huttner, Brittney Wilburn, and their basement Web operation—ProgressNow Action are angry that once again, Independence Institute President Jon Caldara is getting more attention than they are.

Caldara, on his Jan. 21 850 KOA radio show, talked about a Democrat presidential candidate debate and asked whether it was accurate to say that candidate and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton "got bitch-slapped tonight".

Huttner and friends swiftly leapt into action, calling their friends in the media to feign outrage and accuse Caldara of sexism, calling his choice of words "demeaning to all women," and alleging that it "minimizes the severity of domestic violence in our community."

C'mon, really? In common usage, the term has nothing to do with gender—especially not for a woman like Hillary Clinton, who prides herself on being….well, a little bitchy. To suggest that somehow Caldara was minimizing domestic violence just plain disingenuous.

Are women really that weak? If Hillary—and her fellow gender-carders are so hurt by Caldara's comments, maybe they shouldn't be pushing her candidacy for a job that would require her to have her hand on the nuclear button, commanding over the fates of thousands of women and men in uniform.

Caldara's response to Huttner's victim calling: "I am just thrilled to know that someone other than my mother is actually listening to my radio show."

Pay no attention to the `man' behind the curtain...

Ah, the hubris of hypocisy. That these supposed `paragons of PC' have themselves all a swivet over a common `street phrase' whilst they have used it, and many others, in the past and will most likely do so in the future. One wonders if this is all they have for a life and if so whether or not they have ever considered that just maybe there isn't something better they could be doing instead? Oh, well... I suppose that it might, just slightly, be better than having them run feral hither and yon as at least it makes them somewhat easier to keep track of to try and make certain their `shots' are `up to date'.

Doleo ergo sum,
