Chavez: Beware Initiative 82
Linda Chavez, Amendment 46 proponent and chairman at the Center for Equal Opportunity, speaks to reporters during a noontime press conference today. Chavez is urging voters not to sign Initiative 82, a controversial ballot measure that will allow the continued use of race and gender preferences in government hiring, education and contracting.
This announcement comes in light of audio recorded by Face The State of a petition circulator disseminating false information about the measure. Chavez is advising voters not to rely on circulators for the facts and recommending they take a close look at the ballot language before signing.
