Political Cartoon for 4/25: Romanoff's TABOR-busting

House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, D-Denver, has said "there is no monopoly on good ideas" in dealing with revenue and spending provisions in the state Constitution. The term-limited House leader has offered a plan to nix the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights, while enshrining Amendment 23's spending requirements in state law. Romanoff's less-than-warm reception of a Republican alternative to his plan has FTS cartoonist Milton questioning his sincerity.

Property rights advocates experienced a small victory Tuesday when the state Senate’s Local Government Committee voted to restore a bill to its original form that would prohibit the Regional Transportation District from transferring private property obtained through eminent domain to another private owner for the purpose of any development not directly related to transit improvements and changes.
