The University of Colorado Regents delayed a vote at their Wednesday meeting on a policy that would require any student fee increase go before a vote of the entire student body, instead opting to give the University of Colorado Student Union - CU-Boulder's student government - the opportunity to debate the proposal before Regents make a final decision.

Student group sues CU over gun ban

A gun rights student coalition is suing the University of Colorado over an on-campus firearms ban. Perry Pendley, lead council for the plaintiffs and chief legal officer of Mountain States Legal Foundation, maintains that CU's ban on licensed concealed carrying of authorized weapons denies the right to self defense guaranteed by the Colorado Concealed Carry Act and the Colorado Constitution.

In the aftermath of a recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to lift a controversial prohibition on all guns in Washington, D.C., college activists are now requesting that the University of Colorado lift its own on-campus firearm ban. The first stop: Thursday's Board of Regents meeting where members of the Colorado Springs chapter of Students for Concealed Carry on Campus say they will submit a petition urging the board to reconsider the ban.
