Leaving from Lincoln Park 30 minutes behind schedule, a diverse group of activists, including pro-pot supporters, Recreate 68 and a coalition opposed to bombing Iran wrapped up the week’s events with a final united march to Invesco Field at Mile High Thursday afternoon.

Civic Center protest permits expire: Activists opt for Rock 'n Roll over rallies

On midnight Tuesday, all protest permits for Civic Center Park expired to make way for Denver's annual Taste of Colorado food festival. Activists were relegated to a small patch of grass on the southwest corner of park, as well as a free speech zone closer to the convention. As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, however, there were few takers on either location.

Hip-hop stars Dead Prez performed at Sunday's Recreate 68 rally at the state Capitol. After their performance, the duo told Face the State, "There's a war going on in the hood...When they talk about stop the war in Iraq, we're talking about stop the war on our back. You know, everywhere that we at."

Protesters at Sunday's Recreate 68 rally were palpably angry at the Bush administration, with many of their frustrations focused on the War in Iraq and Afghanistan. Face The State caught up with one especially creative group using huge, oversized costumes to demand the Commander-in-Chief be tried for "murder."
