For all of the emotion surrounding this year's presidential election, facts are frequently pushed to the side. That's why we were happy to see an Oct. 26th Wall Street Journal piece titled "Obama v. McCain: It's About Your Money."

A controversial ballot initiative that would put an end to preferential treatment based on race, sex, or ethnicity by public entities received further validation from the voting public Tuesday.

In a video interview with the Wall Street Journal this week, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bob Schaffer did not shy away from the "Big Oil Bob" moniker ordained by his opposition. Instead, he advocated off-shore drilling to help achieve energy independence and to help American consumers at the pump.
